By now everyone is back in school and if there is one thing I forgot with back to school, it was the amount of dirty and smelly laundry that comes with BTS. Holy cow, what do these kids do during the school day, and how do they come back home like this. Like I did not send you to school looking like that!! So it was only fair for me to list out my laundry hacks for you!
To help you with all that BTS laundry, I wanted to share some of the most popular laundry hacks (I’ve tried and have done all but one). From getting rid of the disgusting odors with the all® Mighty Pacs Odor Lifter detergent to using ice cubes to de-wrinkle, these laundry hacks will make all that laundry a bit easier for you!
Got Stains and Odors? I like to use my trusted all® Mighty Pacs Odor Lifter detergent to help with stains and odors! Especially when it comes to kids’ clothing. With back to school, my kids sometimes come home with who knows what on their clothes, and the all® Mighty Pacs Odor Lifter detergent is the only thing that really helps!
The all® Mighty Pacs are powerful in stain remover. The concentrated cleaning power and in-wash pre-treaters give you an advantage over dirt and odor. It’s changed how I do laundry here.
Make a note of what goes in the dryer. I like to use a dry erase marker to write down on my washer or dryer the items I need to take out and hang dry!
Say goodbye to missing socks by washing them in a mesh laundry bag! I can’t tell you how many socks I am missing. I don’t know why I never thought about washing our socks in a mesh bag, but LIFE CHANGED.
Try adding ¼ cup of white vinegar to the wash. This can cut grease and soften water in your laundry load! Adding white vinegar can also help with colors fading, and with static and lint on your clothes.
Dry clothes faster by adding a towel: make sure the towel is clean and DRY. You can speed up the drying process by throwing in a towel into a load of wet clothes for the first 15 minutes of the drying cycle.
Add a tennis ball while drying blankets and pillows that need fluffing. Again, just make sure the tennis ball is clean and dry!
Sort laundry BEFORE washing. Find a hamper with different compartments to help sort your colors and sheets. My basket has three and we separate by darks, whites, and towels/sheets.
Wash in cold water. Not all of our clothes should be washed in hot or warm water. With most detergents and high-efficiency machines, you can wash your clothes in cold water. Washing in cold water is not only cost-effective but can help from clothes fading and shrinking too!
Unshrink clothes with conditioner. Now, I have not tried this hack yet, but I’m going to this weekend. You’re supposed to soak the clothing for 30 minutes and use one tablespoon conditioner in lukewarm water. Then gently stretch the item back. I’ve heard from many that this legit works.
Dewrinkle clothes with ice cubes. Throw a couple of ice cubes in your dryer with the wrinkled clothing for about 15 minutes.
