Around this time of year, we are so busy treating others that we forget to take care of ourselves. In preparation for Valentine’s Day, I pulled together 10 Ways To Practice Self Love. Because it’s the week for all things love, what better way to start internally?! BTW- if you’re a mom, I know self-love can seem selfish, but sometimes you have to be selfish to give others your best.
I LOVE this holiday, no pun intended. So set aside the gift-giving for a second, please give yourself some self-care. We always forget how important that is, and that might be why our brain isn’t how we want it or too tired to function. Whether you invite the girls over for spa night, get a massage, or draw a hot bath, remember to practice self love… and not just this week, but all year round!
Unplug for the day.
Unplugging means putting the phone down! No emails, no social media, no texting, and no tiktok. Trust me, it’ll be fine, and it will all be there when you come back!
Read a book
An actual book. Get your mind and brain thinking, learn something! You can listen to an audiobook. But if you ask me, there is something about holding a physical book. P.S. I’m currently reading The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry– what. a. great. book!
Move your body
Exercise. Give yourself 30 minutes a day to sweat and move your body. Your body will thank you. Walk, yoga, pilates, just MOVE your body!
Draw yourself a warm bath
Don’t forget the bubbles, bath bomb, Ipad, and wine. Dim the lights and add candles around you.
Drink more water
Commit to drinking more water. You’ll notice a massive difference in your skin, mental clarity, and more. Aim to drink your weight in half in ounces. So if you weight 150/2= 75 ounces per day.
Clean out emails
This may be an odd one, but I know most of you have hundreds of emails in your inbox. Go ahead and give yourself an hour and tackles those emails, baby. There is something so rewarding about an empty inbox.
Simplify your life
You can simplify anything; it can be closet, your schedule, or even your pantry. You’ll feel a weight lifted off you!
Practice a day of rest
A FULL 24 hours of no work. Don’t clean, don’t cook, no laundry. If you’re a mom, this may be a bit tricky, but moms need rest too.
SLEEP!
Learn to say No
Thank you so much for stopping by I hope you enjoyed this 10 Ways To Practice Self Love post, have a great day!

These are really good points! I do some of these already, but I definitely have room to improve. Wonderful ideas!
Hell yeah! Thanks for the great reminder that we need to take time out to look after ourselves. Love the idea of a long bath, followed by a good night’s sleep. Don’t you find sleep gets pushed to the bottom of the priority list with so much going on? I like your suggestion of bath bombs – do you have any other tips for a great bath experience? Have a great day 🙂
