I can’t believe that concealers for over 30 is the title of this blog post. I don’t know if I want to laugh of cry. Who decides that 30 is mature skin? I mean, I don’t know about you, but I’m 32, and I feel better, more confident than in my 20’s. Sure, I’m a bit more tired, and I don’t swing back after a night out like I used to. But I refuse to accept that I am old ?.
I will admit, though, that as I get less sleep, my dark circles are showing more and more. And I have tried a lot of different concealers and makeup, so today, I wanted to share my top 5 concealers for over 30!
To preface this, I like my concealers thick and creamy. I also like FULL COVERAGE. I need to look like I got 15hrs of sleep when I really only got 5 (mom life, anyone?!) The concealers below all hold well, don’t crease (when properly applied and set), and last in the heat and humidity of HTX.
hot tip;
when you’re shopping for concealers- don’t go too bright. Aim to have 1-2 shades lighter than your foundation.
I’m kicking this off actually with a color corrector- consider this a bonus! I have talked about this A LOT. But the consistency, how it cancels the dark circles, is perfect. I will not live without this one. Because my skin tone is a bit more olive-complected- the orange cancels out any darkness and purple/blue I have.
What it is: NARS Concealer
How much: $31.00 (on sale currently)
Why I love it: Probably my favorite concealer as of lately. It brightens and corrects. It does claim that it can hold for 16hours (I have not tried it for that long), but it does hold! It’s creamy with a medium-to-buildable coverage.
What it is: ELF Concealer
How much: $6.00
Why I love it: Love a good drugstore. This is the ELF high-coverage and also long-wearing. Easy to blend, and doesn’t flake! This is a good dupe for the shape tape concealer.
What it is: Doll 10 Concealer
How much: $28.00
Why I love it: Full-coverage, but by far one of the lightest concealers I own. Does not crease or settle into your fine lines. Also a clean brand and made with Cucumber, Vitamin C, and Aloe Vera to help reduce puffiness and fine lines. Love the metal applicator too!
What it is: Hourglass Concealer
How much: $36.00
Why I love it: Full-coverage and waterproof! Rich and creamy and very little goes a long way! I would also say this does not have a natural finish, but more of a matte finish.
What it is: Dior Skin Corrector
How much: $36.00
Why I love it: 24 hr wear, but again- I have not worn it that long. I will say this does wear really well. Full-coverage with more of a natural finish. Also, very creamy! Just like all of them ?
