Floral ASOS Dress – 36 Weeks Pregnancy Update

36.3 weeks pregnant and we had our first scare landing us to the hospital at 5:00 am on Tuesday morning.

Thankfully Liam is cooking for a bit longer. How much longer we have no idea, but the doctor is giving me a week, tops. Here are our 36 weeks pregnancy update …

Both my boys came early at 38 weeks and 37 weeks. I was induced with Jadyn because of high blood pressure, but Colin came all on his own at exactly 37.0 weeks. We all assumed Liam would come early, but not this early!

I was having contractions on and off all day Monday. Tuesday morning at around 1:30 am the contractions started coming pretty strong and were 8-12 mins apart. I called the on-call doctor, and because this is my third baby, she wanted me to come in (this was around 3:00 am) and didn’t want to risk me having a baby in the car.

We finally made it to the hospital at 5:00 am. We got settled in, and the nurse checked me at 5:15 am, I was 3 cm dilated but still 50% effaced. The doctor then decides that I should walk for an hour around the halls and then to check for any change at 7:30 am. Sure enough, by then I am 4cm dilated but still, only 50% effaced.

At this point contractions are 5-8 minutes apart and still pretty strong. Because I am still 36 weeks (not 37 until Friday) Liam would HAVE to be in NICU. The hospital likes to monitor babies born before 37 weeks for 6 hours for blood sugar levels and to see if they can regulate their body temp.

We all want to meet sweet Liam, but not at the expense of my little man’s health. Because I’m not full term, the doctors (and us) of course don’t feel comfortable medically intervening for him to come out.

So after talking to the doctor about our options and what we all thought was best for Liam, we decided to of course come home. I got my first round of steroid shot (getting my second one tomorrow) to speed up Liam’s lungs development because the doctor doesn’t think I will make it any longer than a week until Liam comes.

Tomorrow I have my 37-week checkup, and we will see if any other changes have been made, I also will get the second dose of steroid shot. I will make sure to keep everyone updated!

We finally made it home close to lunch and needless to say I took the best nap in my life. I was SO tired!! On top of the no sleep; I still have a stuffy nose and sinus infection that makes breathing harder than it already is at 36 weeks pregnant!

Thankfully Liam is okay and healthy! I am doing okay also. I am still feeling contractions, but not like before.

Don’t worry I am taking it easy, and drinking tons of fluids! Hubby is working from home for the rest of week and taking care of me.

Thank you guys for all the prayers and well wishes, we love you guys!
