It’s HUMP DAYYYYYYY!
The Browns have been fighting off fevers, and bad coughs for 5 days now! Colin started it off and mom and dad are always the last to get it. Which if you think about it is so wrong, just when the kids start getting better you’re at like 1% and having to take care of kids who have all this energy in the world because they got so much rest.
Lets talk about Joy. I have gotten several comments over my years of blogging about my joy, and I love it. I am a very happy person and I wear my heart on my sleeves just like my mom. It’s the joy of the Lord that fills my heart! But, it’s also something you have to work at. Being Joyful isn’t easy and it takes work. There are so many things out in today’s world or even in our own lives that can knock us down leaving us empty. Heck, even the day-to-day motherhood is enough on you to leave you beat down.
How do I find my joy? Glad you asked!
- Jesus. It begins and ends with Jesus. Being a mother of two doesn’t always get me a whole lot of quiet time. Actually my quiet time is almost always in the car, when the boys are quiet…er. I love listening to sermons or podcasts from Lisa Bevere and worshiping. Worship heals and sets me free!
- I find time for myself. Wether it’s going to target alone, or getting a mani and pedi. Alone time is good…especially for a mama, it time does something to you, it fills you up and leaves you feeling energized! Alone time also allows you to actually think properly, cuz we all know when you’re a mom thinking normally involves a loud T.V., kids screaming and a dog barking & chasing after the kids.
- Do what you love. I know this one is hard especially us mommas with kids. But just like finding time alone, finding time to do something you love is also vital. Maybe combine the alone time by doing something you love! Or if you’re like me, you use all and any excuse you can to get out of the house, ha!
- Have a support system. A lot of the times I get asked how I do it all, and to be honest… I have an incredible husband who helps out ALOT. Jordan cooks, and cleans (he isn’t allowed to touch the laundry after ruining a few items) but we are a team and work together. When one is weak the other steps in and steps up.
Life ain’t easy, and the stresses of life will tear you down. It’s easy to throw in the towel and give up and not really live life. Find what gives you joy and hold on to that, sometimes you also have to fake it till you make it. I know that sounds odd, but your words have life and death on the power of your tongue. Start speaking positivity and joy into your life and I promise things will change, it won’t be over night, but they will change!
