One question I have gotten over and over again recently is, “what kind of shampoo and conditioner is your favorite”?! It’s a loaded question, only because I have several that I REALLY like and would highly recommend. I don’t think I could choose an ABSOLUTE favorite. So today let’s break down 10 best shampoo and conditioner for every hair type.
The biggest reason why I have so many different shampoo’s and conditioners I like is that my hair is always changing, and so are the needs of my hair. It all depends on what condition my hair is in, and also the season. For example, during the summer, if I am swimming with the boys a lot, I use a lot of deep condition treatments. During the Winter season, my hair can become dull and has tons of static.

Murumuru Butter & Rose Blooming Masque
This will be the best $3.00 you will ever spend. I can use one small packet twice. Leaves your hair incredibly shiny, and manageable! It’s infused with Organic Coconut Oil. Phthalate-free, paraben-free, dye-free, aluminum-free, vegan, silicone-free! SMELLS AMAZING.
Coconut oil NEVER FAILS. Read more here on what kind of coconut oil you should be getting (yes it does actually matter). Coconut oil helps with shine, dullness, hydration. Add a little bit of lavender oil, and it also helps with flakes!
Resistance Mask for Damaged Hair
Kerastase overall is a FANTASTIC brand. I have yet to try one of their products and not like it. It’s pricey but worth every penny. This mask is a highly-concentrated, strengthening mask for weak, brittle, or damaged hair. Helps rebuild hair fiber and prevents breakage and controls split ends.
Hair Perfector No. 3
This stuff is magic, in just one use you see a huge difference. This is not a deep conditioner, and should only be used about once a week. No. 3 Hair Perfector is a concentrated treatment that strengthens the hair from within, reducing breakage and improving its look and feel. Addressing damaged hair, it strengthens, protects and restores your hair. Created by two of the top Ph.D.’s in chemistry and materials science, Olaplex products feature first-of-their-kind, patented, bond-building technology, which relinks the broken disulfide bonds caused by chemical, thermal, and mechanical damage to the hair.
Best Shampoo and Conditioner For Every Hair Type: Shampoo’s & Conditioners
Aveda and I go waaaaay back. By far one of my favorite brands all around. 95% naturally derived* silicone-free. Both have Abyssinian oil— that gently cleanses and provides weightless, long-lasting nourishment while infusing hair with their signature calming aroma with 25 pure flower and plant essences. If you’re looking for a great everyday shampoo, Aveda is my recommendation.
Search and Rescue
(use code UPTOWN for 30% off) // Both Infused with Biotin, the shampoo and conditioner give you fuller, thicker and volumized hair. SLS & Paraben free. Color-Treated and extension safe. This is a new(ish) brand to me and I have really liked all their products. My favorite of all would be the shampoo, it really cleans my hair and smells amazing. The ONLY thing I would say, I feel like the conditioner leaves my hair tangled. I am also really picky with conditioner and like my hair to feel silky smooth in the shower.
If you’re looking for a great 3 system shampoo, conditioner, and treatment, get Olaplex. Their 3,4,5 system is designed to repair and maintains bonds within the hair. Eliminates frizz and flyaways. Reduces breakage and color safe! Olaplex is also formulated WITHOUT Parabens, Sulfates, and Phthalates.
Kerastase is another brand that I REALLY like. They have different hair care lines to meet individual needs like, if your hair is blonde, needs repair, or you need hair restoration. Their line is a bit more on the pricey side, but it’s a very good brand!
Golden Moringa Oil
My favorite drugstore shampoo and conditioner! I loved using this during the hot summer days in Houston, especially for those humid days! Herbal Essences Golden Moringa Oil Botanical helps with frizzy hair and is specifically crafted with naturally inspired ingredients to smooth and deliver more manageable, shiny hair. Golden Moringa Oil Shampoo has 0% parabens, gluten and colorants, and color safe!
**Suave and the good hair are both new shampoos and conditioners I am trying out, so I will report back on those 🙂
Thank you so much for stopping by, have a great day!
