How to Clean Makeup Brushes
Makeup brushes. We all have some, whether you have 5 or 50 brushes cleaning them can seem tedious. We often ask ourselves do we need to clean the brushes every week, what do we use to clean the brushes, and does cleaning them matter? Today let's talk all about how to clean makeup brushes.
WHEN TO CLEAN MAKEUP BRUSHES
For your face brushes, they need to be cleaned once a week. It doesn't matter if you use them every day or 2x a week. Cleaning them weekly will help prevent product buildup. Brushes used around the eyes should be cleaned at least twice a month. BUT, SHOULD BE cleaned weekly as well.
Keep in mind, the longer you don't wash your brushes, the more your brushes can become filled with dead skin cells and bacteria, which can lead to breakouts!

HOW TO CLEAN MAKEUP BRUSHES
- For your face brushes, soak them in a bit of warm soapy water at first. This will help loosen and remove some of the build up.
- Always reshape your brushes when they are wet.
- Keep the base of the brush head away from soap and water. This can cause the glue to disintegrate and the bristles to come loose and shed.
- Always let them dry horizontally.
