I may have mentioned it once or twice (maybe even more?). Slowing down for me is a tough thing to do. Slowing down is something I battle with on the daily. This summer break I came to realize that instead of creating a summer bucket list- I’m making a daily choice to slow down.

Between the demands of life, owning a business, and being there for my family, I feel like I am always struggling to find a balance. I’m often reminded that there really is no such thing as balance.
The worst part for me is dealing with #momguilt. My gosh, the guilt is so real! It’s as if you can’t do enough, or be enough. I know I’m not perfect, yet missing the mark or better yet thinking I could have (or should have done) more eats me alive more than I would like to admit.
This summertime I had so many things I wanted to do with the boys. I wanted to go to parks, travel, and enjoy time off with them. I went into this summer so hopeful, but I quickly realized being 5+ months pregnant with a 2-year-old in 100-degree weather was not working. Along came the mom guilt… the feeling like I am not doing or being enough.

Then it hit me, my kids don’t need grand gestures or for me to move mountains. They need just me. They need quality time, playing on the floor time. The time they need with me doesn’t have to be grand or even worth a lot of money.
So this summer instead of us dredging the summer heat, we are quietly playing indoor board games, pretending to be Buzz, Woody, and Rex. We are building forts and being silly- we are being kids. P.S. I love that shopDisney.com has all the toys to do just that- to be a kid!
We (or should I say I?!) are learning to slow down, to truly appreciate the small things in life. Sure not every day is perfect, but all that matters is that we are taking it a day at a time. I guess you can say I am learning to be a kid again and to not let that #momguilt win at the end of the day.
And with me being a kid again (or sort of?) I love that Disney came out with the Toy Story 4 movie AND shopdisney.com has the new Toy Story 4 toys! They have dress-up clothes, character socks, school supplies, and even items for adults.
We found each of the boys Buzz, Woody, and Rex. The boys love to play with action figures and just like in each movie how Andy plays and imagines with his toys, so do the boys! Finally, we also found some cool board games that everyone can play, and that I can beat them in, haha!

Side note- can you believe the first Toy Story came out in 1995- I was Jadyns age. I remember watching it all the time, and it brings back so many good memories! The new Toy Story 4 movie though was the cutest! Liam brought along Woody to the movies and was glued to the screen the entire time. I love how the boys go to sleep with their buzz, woody, and rex now. It’s the cutest thing hearing them play and talk as they go to sleep with their new toys- just like Andy and Bonnie!
Make sure to visit shopDisney.com to see all the new Toy Story toys, so many great options for the whole family!
Again, I wanted to encourage a mama out there (and remind myself) that the moments that matter in life is the small moments. Let’s focus on the little moments, those little moments make up the big memories.
