It’s the most wonderful time of the year! And with the most wonderful time of the year here, bring on all the sickness and germs. Flu and RSV are both at an all-time high this year too?. With all this sickness going on, I wanted to share one of my favorite drinks that helps with the sickness and works like MAGIC (so many people rave by it). It’s the DIY Starbucks Medicine Ball.

I don’t know what it is about this, but this drink is AMAZING. Any sign of a throat ache or cough, this tea helps almost instantly. I can’t vouch for how healthy it is, nor can I legally claim that it will cure your sickness. BUT it has worked for JB and me.
Just like the white mocha, I found a way to create the medicine ball drink at home. It’s not 100% the same, but it’s pretty close if you ask me.

Here’s my DIY Starbucks Medicine Ball recipe;
1 Tea Bag of Peach Tranquility Tea
1 Tea Bag of Jade Citrus Mint Tea
1 TBSP of Honey
Lemon Juice.
Now here are a few tips I have learned;
- The amount of lemon juice you use does matter. I fill up my cup with *very hot* water 3/4 of the way. Then I fill it up with steamed lemon juice (see picture below for reference), I would use the 3 to 1 ratio for water and lemon juice. Also, the kind of lemon juice you use does not matter, just make sure it’s steamed or hot.
- The kind of honey you use also does not matter.
- Finally, the tea you do use does make a HUGE difference. I have tried several off-brands (like the Target brand) tea, and it did not taste the same. As I was searching for teas online I noticed the TAZO (which is also a Starbucks brand) and ZEN have the same ingredients. ZEN works great for a replacement as the Jade Citrus Mint Tea (which is what Starbucks uses to make their tea).

^^ this is how much water I use, and I top it off with lemon juice.

Have you tried this tea? What are your thoughts? Comment below! Thank you so much for stopping by, have a great day!

The DIY recipe sounds like a dream – and so much cheaper too! It’s perfect for me too because you can’t actually get the Medicine Ball in Hong Kong’s Starbucks, haha! 🙂
