Praise Jesus it’s the weekend! I love the weekends, I mean who doesn’t? You definitely don’t hear people saying YAY it’s Monday!
Pastor Joel Osteen came out with a great book called Everyday A Friday (I highly recommend it, you can get it here). Shouldn’t we all be living like everyday is a Friday? We get so excited because it’s the weekend, and that means no work, sleeping in, and football (or are we the only ones who watch football all weekend long?). But shouldn’t we be grateful and live EVERYDAY with such excitement?
I get that not everybody is working at their dream job, and the circumstances of life are just not getting easier. I mean trust me, I have list myself of what I would prefer to be going on in life and many times I look up and literally ask God out loud if he really is serious? (I’m sure he laughs every time and says yes).
What if we change our perspective and really live life like everyday is a Friday, with excitement for life, for our loved ones, and for our jobs. What if we changed our perspective and thanked God for the job that gives us a comfy bed, nice clothes, and a roof over our head- even if it isn’t our “dream job”.
I was talking to a few friends and I was complaining about being at home with the kids and how I can never get any work done. One of my friends who is a working mama responded by “I wish I could be annoyed by my kids”. It’s easy to always look at the Mondays of life and get caught up in a negative rut. Lets commit to live life like everyday is a Friday. Lets enjoy life, our families, our jobs, the good, the bad and even the Mondays.
