It is not an easy task finding the right shade of lipstick. I feel like Fall lipstick colors are even more challenging. I do love a good bold lip, though! It’s vampy (is that a word?), dark, and moody but chic all in one. It’s a MOOD for sure, wouldn’t you agree? I know we are well into the Fall season, but today I wanted to share 5 Fall drugstore lipsticks.
When it comes to dark and rich lipsticks, I love matte shades. I’m not a big gloss lover (only here and there). But I LOVE me a matte lip color. They can be tricky to apply, but I find that they can last longer with a few tricks, and the application will go on smoothly and beautifully.
Here are a few things I do when applying a rich fall lipsticks like the ones below.
- Exfoliate- always before!
- I tend to apply my lipstick last, so the first thing I do before applying my makeup is to apply a lip mask to hydrate them. This also helps with the matte lipstick not drying out your lips.
- Try lining your lips LAST with a similar color.
- Finally, to prevent the color from bleeding, I like to use a clear lip liner and slightly overlining my lips before applying my lipstick.
