In today’s post I’m sharing his and hers matching watches. I’m also going to be a little more vulnerable and share an open love letter to JB. Appreciation is huge in marriage! JB, we appreciate you so much!
I’ve mentioned how Father’s Day is quickly approaching. Well, with everything that has been going on in our lives, I wanted to pause for a second to give honor where honor is due.
I know I brag about the incredible man God gave me. But today I really wanted to brag and do kind of open love letter to the one that has my heart… and my eyes. I’m not really good with words, my love language is gifts, so bear with me.
Some of you may or may not know but, Jb and I got married at a very young age (JB-23 me-18). I can blame it on my background and the culture I was brought up in (I am Brazilian). But I like to think that God meant for us to be together. 8 years later I love this man more than I did on the day I said “I do”. Each day I am grateful that God has blessed me with such an incredible man. I married up.
Thank you for bringing out the best in me. You challenge me day in and day out to be my best in everything I do. Thank you for believing in me, and in my blog. Thank you for investing in it and being my CFO (even though you gave yourself that title) and making sure I stay on budget.
Thank you for being an incredible father to our boys. Seeing them light up when you come home and how excited they get to be with dad, moves me. Your care, love, and the way you lead them to Christ is something that I admire so much about you. I love how you always pray with Jadyn and Colin for every boo-boo. The way you read scriptures over dinner and how you always read a bible story at bedtime. Your strength, your boldness to be unashamed of the gospel and your faith despite what’s going on around us is inspiring. Thank you for teaching our boys how to be so friendly and to share the joy of Christ.
Thank you for being you. Silly, goofy, CaJaMaSu self (inside joke). It’s clear that the boys silly and goofy personality comes from you. Thank you for teaching us all to enjoy life and to live life to the fullest.
Thank you for your hard work ethic. For your financial wisdom and for leading us into a better life. I know we don’t always see eye to eye on money, but thank you for putting your foot down and making sure we are good stewards of our money. Thank you for being a God-fearing man and being obedient to his word with our finances, with our lives, and with everything we do. I know my spending habit drives you crazy, but your patience and love with me and my crazy latin self is more than I could ask for.
Lastly, thank you for loving me like Christ loves his bride. You have always placed my wants and needs before yours, you have sacrificed your desires over mine. You love me unconditionally despite my flaw and sins. Thank you for caring for me in the last few weeks, for holding my hand and holding me. You have truly demonstrated the love of Christ in the last few weeks. I honor you and respect you my love. There is no other man I would rather do life with. You have all of me.
I love you, forever and always.
