Happy Thursday!
I just wanted to pop in today to share one of my last NYC looks from last month.
I know it’s pretty much warm weather across the whole US, but I know a lot us still gets chilly nights or even mornings. And it can be hard (and even annoying) having to figure out what to wear. Especially if you’re in Houston, the weather can range 20 degrees in just one morning! I used to hate going into work freezing, then come lunch time and have to strip off my clothes because it was in the 80’s.
So for today, I wanted to share a few tips on how to layer a Spring dress for those crazy weather days.
- Go with lighter layers. It’s easier to layer with lighter fabrics than thicker ones. I added this light drape jacket over my dress, and it was just enough to keep me warm with not overheating. I also went with an open front jacket, so I play peekaboo with the print of the dress.
- Add boots with your dress. Whenever I wear boots, I’m instantly warmed up. It’s great because not only do you get to wear the OTK boots longer (getting more bang for your buck), but your legs stay warm. It doesn’t have to be OTK boots; you can also try ankle boots!
- Add the right accessories. Like a scarf, which is very easy to take on and off and isn’t bulky. You can also add a hat! Felt hats are great transitional pieces, and always adds a bit of flare to any look!
In true NYC style, I kept my look all black. And I let me tell ya, I fit right in! Haha.
