How to Manage Stress

2020 has been quite a year, wouldn’t you agree? I would bet to say many people’s stress levels are all over the place, heck, I know mine is?! Between COVID, the kids at home, homeschooling, while trying to work makes me so stressed. We may not be able to avoid stress altogether, but we can find out how to manage stress better.

We will all manage stress differently. I want to clarify that what works for me may not work for you. But that doesn’t mean you have to live with the stress. My encouragement is to find ways to manage it! You do not have to live a stressful life, that is no way to live!

With that said, here are five things I try to do consistently, and how I manage with stress day in and day out.

Are you under a lot of stress? Houston blogger Elly Brown shares 5 ways on How to Manage Stress and what helps her deal with chaos.

How to manage stress; take time out.

This is one that does not come easily for me. I am an over-achiever and a go-getter. I know how to hustle (I get it from my dad). But this backfires in so many ways, and especially when I am under stress. When you are under stress, the best thing for you to do it to stop. You have to learn when to hit the brakes and when to hit the gas. It will do you more good if you stop, take a break, a day off, and revisit once you have given yourself, your mind, and body a break.

How to manage stress; get help

They say it takes a village, and it does. You can not do it all, or be it all. Learn to lean on those around you, and get help when you need help. Find someone to talk to, and do not be afraid to ask for help. Women, we are not superwomen and can not do it all. You will break trying to be and do it all. Proverbs 31 had help, don’t you forget that!

How to manage stress; take CBD drops

I know CBD may not be for everyone. I was very hesitant even to try CBD, but they have been amazing. You know that bouncing your knee up and down habit when your stressed or worried? It helps me with that (that was the best way I can think to describe it, just go with it?). CBD has been fantastic in also helping me with a good night’s rest. I don’t wake up like I usually do in the middle of the night.

How to manage stress; Get Sleep

Speaking of sleep. Sleep is VITAL for so many things, and one of them is your ability to handle situations. GET MORE SLEEP. Aim for 7-8 hours every night, and try to keep a consistent sleep schedule every day!

How to manage stress; Sweat it out

For me, a good boxing session in my home gym does the trick. I will normally blast my music in my headphones, and go at it. For others, it’s running, or lifting weights. Whatever it is, find a way to sweat it out. Physical activity helps bump up your brain’s feel-good neurotransmitters, called endorphins, and improves your mood.

Comment down below, what are some things you do, and how do you manage stress? I would love to hear from you!

Great tips! I wish gyms were open because I just can’t seem to motivate myself to exercise without someone shouting at me, haha! ❤️✨

I just came back from a mental breakdown less than few days ago and was on the verge of another one because of me being paranoid. This comforted me a lot, thank you.
