How to Wear a Cape Coat 5 Ways this Winter

We may be getting closer to spring, but we’re not there just YET. So don’t go putting those winter jackets away! If you don’t have a cape coat for the winter, I will implore you to buy one! Which by the way, Zara has some adorable spring-colored ones on sale too!

I do think a winter cape coat is a great layering piece for your closet, especially for a place like Houston. We don’t get really too cold too often, so thin layering pieces are great to have! Loving this longer cape coat too, btw.

Of course, I won’t tell you to buy something and not share different ways to style them! So here are five different on how to wear a winter cape coat!

LOOK #1 DETAILS

If this doesn’t scream winter chic, then I don’t know what does! I love this classic look; this is a look that is timeless and won’t ever go out of style! You can have fun here and add OTK boots or even booties!

For this look, I wanted to add some print for a little pop. Because the pants have a pattern, I kept the color palette neutral. You can also swap out pants like this for jeans and add a white top with dark denim.

Who says you can’t wear a cape with a dress? The key here is to LAYER, so you don’t get too cold. You’ll notice I even layered underneath my dress with a turtle neck bodysuit, added knee-high boots for a chic touch.

Another great winter staple outfit. I LOVE the pop of stripes in this look. Also, what’s a winter outfit without a pair of faux leather leggings. The pointed toe flats elevate the look and add a touch of feminity. You can always swap the flats out for booties or boots as well!

It wasn’t until I saw Blair wear stockings and sandals together a few years ago that I became hooked. I LOVE it. For this look, if stockings aren’t your thing, you can also wear OTK boots to help keep your legs warm! Side note; I love the color combo of this look.
