I recently got these slouchy boots from Bernardo, and I have worn them more times than I can count. I LOVE them. Now, they are an investment piece, but today I wanted to show you some ways HOW to wear slouchy boots like these to get the most for your money!
Before we get into each outfit, I want to call out a few things about buying slouchy boots. First, most slouchy boots you’ll find can look a bit outdated. You’ll want to buy a pair that’s a bit more modern. The way to do that is to pay close attention to the toe box. I would avoid something rounded and go for something a bit more slender or pointy.

This outfit was Pinterest-inspired, and I LOVE the Ralph Lauren vibes it gives! I also wore this look but with a denim-on-denim look, and it also looked SO good!

Try styling and wearing your slouchy boots with a ribbed knit dress! I love the blue and brown together here, and when paired with the cropped jacket, it looks very chic, IMO.

The other thing is to ensure it’s decently fitted throughout the leg. You don’t want too much space, or the gap looks unflattering. It doesn’t have to be fitted and can be a little loose. I would aim for a couple of fingers in space, no more than that.
Avoid a slouchy boot with a heel that is too trendy; keep it simple so you can wear it year after year. And finally, I would make sure the very top of the boot, the “collar” is straight unless it’s a western slouch boot. As in, the cut is even and flat and not cut horizontally like this.

Warning, you may see this jacket more times than you would like to?. But I think this jacket and these boots go SO well together. I also love the hat in addition to this outfit.

Remember, you don’t have to wear your boots over your jeans always. If you have a pair of flared denim, try styling your boots UNDER the denim. It’s unexpected but can look very chic. I would make sure your denim isn’t too cropped; around the ankle is universally more flattering on all body sizes.
