Our master bedroom reveal is so overdue. If you have been following along, we started to renovate our home last year. And by renovating, I mean we updated a few things and redecorated. I’m happy to say that our modern master bedroom is finally complete!
We have been in our home for four years now. We built it with the builders, but it’s funny because our taste has changed so much in the last couple of years. I used to love the old Pottery Barn style with lots of tans, and browns. Now I want everything white and gray, which is why we are redoing things. I love farmhouse decor; the only thing is it tends to get too cluttered for me.
We started redoing things around the house last Thanksgiving, and although we have finished the big stuff, we still have a few rooms left to finish. I don’t think we will ever finish though? I feel like I always want to change something, which drives Jordan crazy.
Our modern master bedroom, however, is finally done! We finally ordered our rug, and we can now move on to the next room. I don’t know how you would describe the decor in our room; I feel like it’s all so mixed. Maybe farmhouse mordern chic, is that even a thing?
For our master bedroom we ripped out the old carpet and replaced wood floors from Home Depot. I knew I wanted something rustic, and when I saw this flooring, I knew it was the one.
As far as furniture, we had a queen bed and upgraded to a king bed. I have always wanted a bed like the one we have now and I am so happy I was able to find it for under $300! We kept our nightstands and dresser (at least for now) because I have not found something that I have fallen in love with just yet. Ideally, I would like to change those, but we will see.
A lot of the decor you see I got from Home Goods. I LOVE finding things at Home Goods and love not breaking the bank. The only down side is that it takes time to find what you are looking for, so you have to be patient. I visit Home Goods at least 1x a week. The bench, small picture frames above the bed, and small decor were all bought at Home Goods.
Every time I post an #OOTD picture, everyone asks about the gallery wall, and that was actually a Pinterest inspired idea. The frames are all from Ikea, and the frame size is 12×16. I love how it turned out, I’m looking to do something similar to our living room wall and can’t wait to see what that will look like!
Last but not least, I have always loved an all white bedding. But I have kids, so the idea of it being ALL white makes me a bit nervous. I also love playing with different colors and textures when it comes to bedding.
To keep white in my bedding I went with this beautiful Vienna bedding from Crane & Canopy. I was a little worried about the ruffles on the end and didn’t know how Jordan would feel (he doesn’t like anything too girly). But I actually love how it turned out!
It adds a bit of shabby chic to our modern master bedroom but without over doing it. The quality (400 thread count) is also amazing and feels so luxurious. To top it off, both the duvet cover and shams have a hidden zipper closure. Removing them to clean is so easy, I will now never have covers with buttons. I’ve been spoiled!
