I hope you had a great weekend! I have been a little MIA and super busy with the conference I had on Friday Night and Saturday. I had such a great weekend with my girls and already miss them! Now I feel like a chicken with her head cut off trying to play catch up!
Mornings are crucial for me. I am already not a morning person. My mornings always set the tone for me and how my day will be. I try to always get a little bit of me time before the kids wake up to catch up on social media and get my coffee going (so I can drink it in peace and while its HOT!). Most days I can get some quiet time and I am able to shower alone and take care of my mind, body, and spirit.
So what do I really do to get things going?
First things first: COFFEE. I brew my cup and steam my milk all while still half asleep. Nothing like that first hot sip, isn’t it glorious?!
I always workout in the morning, so my breakfast needs to be something yummy, healthy, and something that keeps me full until lunch. I love oatmeal! Oatmeal has so many great benefits not only for your body but also for your skin! Oatmeal is rich in fiber (good for your tummy) and also known to drop cholesterol levels! While I sit on my hot coffee and munch on my oatmeal I will get my quiet time in!
Finally I get a shower, alone and in peace. I love looooong showers and well, when you have kids, sometimes your lucky to even get a shower! Once a week I will use my body scrub from St. Ives®. I have been using St. Ives® scrub for YEARS and it’s the only scrub that I have found that has just enough scrub and isn’t harsh on my skin. It’s also made with 100% natural exfoliants including walnut shell, silica, oatmeal, and honey to get rid of all the yucky dead cells. I use my scrub once a week (morning of) when I go get my spray tan. I’m also a bit of a lotion freak and I always use lotion after my showers and when I wash my hands (using lotion also prolongs your tan). Along with my scrub, I have been using St. Ives® for years and love the non greasy, and non sticky Oatmeal & Shea Butter Body Lotion.
Believe it or not, I am really bad about doing my makeup during the week unless I am going out or meeting with someone. But recently I have taken the time to put on a little bit of makeup (not full on glam because I do workout), but a little bit of CC Cream and blush do go a long way!
What a difference it makes when you actually take time to invest in yourself and in your body. Believe it or not, I feel like a better wife, mommy, and friend when I do so! So what’s your morning routine? What do you do to make sure your day goes smooth?
