Last year I started my journey to cleaner beauty. It’s been a very slow journey, and I admit I still feel overwhelmed when it comes to clean makeup brands and products. It’s a lot to take in, a lot to digest, and I feel like it’s a hit or miss with clean beauty.
For example, a few weeks ago, I was asked to share clean drugstore makeup brands, so I went to Target. I bought so much stuff, and I was so excited! I ended up keeping only five products, FIVE. The foundation looked cakey, and the eyeshadow had horrible pigmentation. Not to mention, clean drugstore products are not cheap. It was $30 for a foundation.
I still have a lot of clean brands to try, so make sure to see updates on this post. And my list of clean makeup brands and products is always growing. But I wanted to share the brands that I HAVE tried, and have loved. But before we get into the brands, let’s go over some FAQ.
Is clean makeup worth it?
YES. Believe it or not, your skin is the largest organ in your body. Everything you put on your skin is being absorbed into your body. Read this post of mine with some statics and a list of some very harmful ingredients.
What does clean makeup even mean?
Clean Beauty is defined by products that are created and produced without any proven or suspected toxic ingredients. The ingredients are ethically sourced and are made with the health of our bodies and the environment in mind.
