My 2022 New Years Resolutions

Ahhh. A new year! I know many, many people don’t love the idea of the new year and new goals. And I get it; I think there is a lot of pressure around the new year, new goals, setting unattainable expectations, and setting yourself for failure. But I think it’s all about balance. There’s that word I love so much (kidding). But, again, I love the new years, I love setting new years resolutions, and having a fresh start.

But honestly, a fresh start does not have to be just in the new year. It can be in March or June. Heck, it can even be in December. But for me, I like to take some time off, readjusting, reprioritizing, and having a vision. So this year, I want to sit down quarterly to evaluate how things are going, what needs to be changed, and what’s working. Once a year is not often enough, and it’s easy to get off course and get distracted.

Elly Brown opens up and shares her New Years Resolutions for 2022 and why she loves starting the new year with a new vision and goals!

With all that said, what are your takes on New Year’s resolutions? Do you love it, or not so much? I would love to hear from you down below in the comments.

I wanted to take the time to sit and share with you my New Year’s resolutions to keep me accountable. If you want to see my process and how I keep myself organized, everything I am using, and the tools I am setting in place, let me know, and I would love to share that too! P.S. This Full Focus planner is AMAZING!

Aside from picking out New Year’s resolutions, I also started picking out a word for my year a few years ago. One word (or sentence) that really means something for the season of life I am in. And this year, I also have a scripture and a song. So extra, I know.

My song for the year; Refiner. What. A. Beautiful song! But phew, The song goes a little like this;

“I wanna be tried by fire, Purified
You take whatever you desire, Lord here’s my life.

Clean my hands, purify my heart
I wanna burn for you, only for You
Take my life as a sacrifice
I wanna burn for you, only for You

Burn me beautiful,
Burn me lovely,
Burn me righteous,
Burn me holy.

Powerful, bold, dangerous, yet beautiful, no?

My Scripture for the year is Psalm 1;1-3.
Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.

And my word for the year is planted. Planted by streams of water- always in fruit and whose leaf does not wither. Always green, no fear, no worry, and never fails to bear fruit. (Jeremiah 17:7-8)

Last year, I mentioned that since entering my 30’s, there have been many moments of discovery (to say the least). Who I am, my past, present, future. Where I want to be in life- as a follower of Jesus, as a mother, wife, and Elly. And I know God is working profoundly working on my heart and me.

and finally,

My Resolutions and Goals for 2022 are;
