With being big and pregnant, my limitations on what I can do family activities with the boys is pretty big. I always feel so sorry that I can’t roll around with them in the dirt, or run and chase after them.
True story, the last time I ran after them playing water balloons I couldn’t walk for two days. I was limping because of my sciatic pain. Talk about feeling old!
So as a family we try to spend a lot of time together, we like to sit down together for all meals, go to movies together, We even try to put both boys down for bed together if we are both home.
One of our favorite family activities has been going to the preserve next to our house to enjoy the scenery and spend some quality time together. They recently opened, and it’s so close to the home that we try to go as often as we can.
The boys love saying hi to everyone walking by, and asking every dog owner if they can say hi (they love dogs). They get so upset when someone says no. A few weeks back Jadyn was like “mommy why does the dog not like me.” My heart broke, I had to explain to him that not all dogs like kids.
Another of our favorite family activities is music. We are all huge music listeners (is that a thing?!) The boys love Lecrae and Trip Lee and will listen to it ALL. DAY. LONG. Ever since they were a baby and in the womb, we would get headphones to put over my belly and have them listen to Christian rap. Jordan secretly wishes that one of them will grow up and learn how to rap.
On our family walks the boys love to bring their SoundBub and jam to their favorite music. They also like to share Ollie the Owl with everyone they see and share their favorite song. The boys carry Ollie the Owl EVERYWHERE with them. I can hardly even charge them without the kids getting upset. The nice thing about the SoundBub is they are portable and can be clipped to just about anything.
Five years ago we were not aware of BellyBuds or that there even was such a thing (I guess better late than never right)? This time around we have been able to play all of the same music to Liam. But instead of old and bulky headphones, we have these cool and super discreet BellyBuds that adhere to my belly.
Like I mentioned the BellyBuds are special speakers that gently adhere to mom’s bump and safely plays music and voices (by using their VoiceShare app) directly to the womb. It also has two different sound settings both which are safe for baby in the belly, unlike regular headphones that can be too loud for baby.
Both the Soundbubs and BellyBuds are also perfect for traveling, or if you’re like us and love just being out and about.
Did you ever let your baby in the belly listen to music? If so what kind of music? I hear classical music is ideal for babies in the womb. I should probably switch from rap to classical music. Maybe that’s why the boys are so full of energy and wild. Haha! I would also love to hear what some of your favorite family activities are!
Thank you for stopping by, and have a great day!
xoxo,

I wish I could head out to a preserve for a walk! It sounds awesome to be able to go connect with and have in nature, as a family!

Your fam is too cute! I’m 33 weeks pregnant and always feel so bad when my two year old wants to be rough & tumble with me or have me chase him and I can’t. But we’re giving them brothers who will be able to do that with them forever! Mom life is the best <3
Such a good perspective, and you are so so right! Mom Life sure is the best life though <3
If you’re a new parent, there is one thing that you can never get quite enough of: SLEEP! In the early days after bringing baby home, sleep falls by the wayside as you’re feeding every couple of hours.
