Have I told you how obsessed I have been with polka dots? Funny story I used to hate polka dots once. Ha, oh how the world does go around.
This little polka dot shirt was all the heart eyes for me. But to be really honest, I don’t really like how I wore this… (did I really just type that?!) Yes I did. Let me backtrack here; I love this polka dot shirt, I really do.
I just think the outfit I envisioned in my head didn’t quite translate. Like I really don’t know why I tied this polka dot shirt all the way up, and I should have tucked in my top. Why am I sharing all this? Well, it goes back to what I have been feeling the last couple of months.
My life is far from perfect, and I do try to be very real with you guys, in this little space of mine. I have always been open about who I am, and everything else going on in my life, I don’t ever want to lose sight of that.
I love this space that I have created, and I am incredibly honored that I have the best followers. Actually, to be honest, I don’t even like saying followers… it sounds weird.
I started blogging because I wanted to share my passion and love for fashion, beauty, and life. But often more times than not (and I will be the first to admit) that I sometimes forget the life part and only share fashion or beauty.
We all love a good sale, and heck I LOVE shopping. But I don’t ever want to lose sight of my why. If you have ever gone to my about me page, you will see I have Proverbs 31:30. Because at the end of the day… all the sales, the shopping, the external things will all disappear.
I read a book a while back, and in this book, (I won’t ever forget) it starts off by asking you to picture your funeral. And at your funeral, what do you want people to say about you?
Let that sink in for a second.
I don’t want to be remembered for my cute shoes, or that I was able to master a wing liner. I want to leave a legacy that will impact generations to come. A legacy that will make my boys better men, one that would teach girls to love themselves. A legacy that embodied the love of Christ.
I know you know what I am saying.
Again, I love a good sale, and I love to shop, but there is a bigger picture, and THAT is why I started blogging. I’m proud of the work I have done, and this doesn’t mean I won’t be talking about fashion or beauty, but you can and will see more posts that come from my heart, and not that any of my pasts blog posts don’t come from my heart. But you get what I’m saying right?
I want to kick off a series called Faith Fridays, where I will have guest bloggers, (or myself ) sharing something encouraging about life, faith, or whatever the topic may be.
I’ll sign off for now, but I would love to hear from you. What would you like to see more of, what should our first topic be? Email, comment, or DM me. I would love to hear from you!
Thank you for stopping by, have a great day!
