I hope you had a great weekend! I know we did! Lots of stuff going on, the guys are coming to paint the cabinets and walls THIS week! If you watched my stories you already saw our struggle with moving the couch upstairs. All I could think about was the scene with Ross and Rachel where Ross keeps telling Rachel to “pivot”. Anyone else remember that?!
As a mom there are many things I fear. Throughout the day there are many times my heart just stops. My boys are loud, and full of energy, and get into pretty much anything and everything. If you’re not a mom you may have no idea what I am talking about. Let me warn you, there will come a time when everything I am saying will flash before your eyes and you will remember this moment we are sharing. Annnnd, if you’re a mom you can just head nod because you know exactly what I am talking about.
Here are a few fears at the top of my list…
1. When my kids say or do something really embarrassing in public. You know that moment when you’re having an adult conversation and your child runs up to you and goes “look mommy” and has poop in his/her hands? Thankfully THAT hasn’t happened, but there have been many times where Jadyn will say something leaving me at a loss of words.
2. Going to the emergency room. Gosh, now this is something that happens on an annual basis for me. I have never broken a bone or gone to the emergency room, yet I have taken both boys more times than I could count. Broken bones, stitches, staples, and glue. You name it, it’s happened. I get weak in the knees seeing blood, or my boys in pain. Thankfully Jordan does a whole lot better than I do, so he is in charge of emergency room visits.
3. Silence in a house filled with kids. Silence is ONLY golden if you don’t have kids, and if you have kids silence only means one thing, they are doing something they shouldn’t be doing. 9 out of the ten times if it’s quiet in my house then my boys are getting into something they shouldn’t be in. It’s kind of like pick your poisen, do you want screaming kids, or having to clean up desitin spread all over the bedroom.
4. Outside Influence. This is something Jordan and I talk about all time. We live in a very dark and crazy world. There is so much hate, and anger out there that it scares me. I will admit that I give the boys my phone more times then I should. And more times than not I am having to worry about them buying something on iTunes (& it’s happen a handful of times). Or them watching something they shouldn’t be watching on YouTube. I recently found out about Sophos Home. Boy do I wish I would have known about it sooner! Sophos Home is a software security company offering free (yes you read that right, FREE!) Software that you install on your devices (computers, tablets, and mobile devices) to protect your family from hackers, protects from malware and it includes anti-virus. And, they have a content filter that helps keep the little ones safe . They have created a tool kit that includes tips and tricks for staying safe. Jordan and I went through the tool kit and it was a serious eye opener. Not to mention, I didn’t know about all the restriction settings on your iPhone that can be changed!
It didn’t take us very long to set everything up. We linked our computers and changed the settings on all our devices. We may not have to worry just yet about the boys being on the computer, but now we can relax and not have to worry about anything when the boys have our phones.
Sophos Home will also have a sweepstakes for Uptown readers (YAY!!). From October 20, 2016 to November 3, 2016. Anyone who downloads Sophos Home will be entered into the sweepstakes, three random winners will be chosen and announced via email on November 7, 2016. One grand prize winner will win a Mac Book and 2 additional winners will each win a series 2 Apple Watch.
Thank you so much for stopping by today! I really, really hope you take some time to download Sophos Home on your computer and that you get a chance to go through their tool kit. I promise it’ll be a life changer (it was for us!).
Have a good day!
xoxo,
A special thank you to Sophos Home for sponsoring this post. All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own. Thank you for supporting those who support Uptown with Elly Brown.

SO with you on the outside influence fear!! Definitely need to get this installed on the iPad! Kennedy has accidentally stumbled on some weird stuff on YouTube before. And while it wasn’t “horrible.” it makes me scared because she’s barely 5 and just curious.
