Raising kids in today’s day and age is hard. It’s pretty scary. I can not even begin to think what the world will be like ten years from now.
The fact that schools have drills in case a mass shooting occurs is crazy for me to think about. But sadly that is the world we live in. Now more than ever do we need to change, but then change begins at home.
I won’t go into politics (don’t worry). But today I want to invoke your thoughts and encourage you that the change this world so desperately needs begins and ends at home. We can complain all we want, throw our fists up in the air, and even pray and ask God “why.” But unless we change things at home, we won’t see a change in the world.
You remember the saying “All we need is love”? Well, we need to teach out kids how to love. Despite our skin color, religion, or who we vote for. My Facebook newsfeed is flooded with who knows what about who did what.
Our littles ones are watching, reading, and learning. Little sponges! Let’s leave them something good to soak up (see what I did there?!). Let’s show them how to love one another, to build each other up, and to lend a helping hand.
Let us leave a legacy where good overcomes evil.
Speaking of doing good, on November 10th from 6pm-9pm at Vineyard Vines in the Highland Village. I will be having a family night out (yes, bring your kids and everyone else in the family). Vineyard Vines is graciously giving 10% off any purchase that evening + 10% will be given back to FCA. If you’re in Houston, make sure to stop by (more details below).
Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!
xoxo
