Back to school is just a few weeks away! Since both boys will OFFICIALLY be in grade school, I wanted to do something for them and give them a big boy room space for their shared bedroom.
Jadyn and Colin have always shared a bedroom. And throughout the years, I have changed up their room in so many ways, but none of them stuck or felt right.
You see, I’ve complained about it before, but we have had a lot of struggle with the boys STAYING ASLEEP IN THEIR BEDROOM. We tried bunk beds (that lasted only a few months), we tried splitting the beds, we tried that alarm clock, we tried it all. Nothing ever really worked, until now *fingers crossed*.
I had to sit both Jadyn and Colin down and explain to them about being big boys, both going off to school, being responsible, and sleeping IN YOUR BED. I think it’s finally gotten across them- again fingers crossed.
So here we are, redecorating their room once again. But this time I wanted to give them each their own side and space. Looking for Shared room ideas was hard for me. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money, and the room layout we have is weird. I also wanted to keep things as simple as possible! I do love how it turned out, and I am so excited to share it with you guys!

This Baby Relax Cricket 6-Drawer Dresser was the best thing we could get. We had a janky little dresser that was falling apart and not big enough. It was time for a serious upgrade, one where the boys could each have their sides and drawers. This dresser was so easy to build, and the quality is fantastic!
^^ these bookends I found on Amazon.

The boy’s bed can be stacked into a bunk bed, which I love being able to switch things up if I want to. I think once they get a little bit older, they will like the idea of bunk beds. The boy’s bed is also from Dorel and again, LOVE their furniture. The quality is fantastic and very well made. Which FYI- the bed set is under $300- it’s a FANTASTIC price.

I struggled for a bit on a theme for the boy’s bedroom, I didn’t want to go with a theme they would outgrow. In the end, I just kept it everything and anything boy(ish). I saw that Minted has canvas art for kids, and they love anything with an engine.
I LOVE how these black and white prints came out. I got the inspiration from fivemarigolds post when I searched Pinterest for shared room ideas. Her’s a bit different, but still, love how these came out. All I did was shoot Jadyn and Colin in front of a blank wall and edited the pictures in black and white. Printed them via FedEx in size 16×20, and found these frames from Target.
