My Favorite Spring Beauty Trends

Thanks to the pandemic, I bet it safe to say it has shaped and changed many things this past year. I mean- does anyone wear heels anymore? Pretty sure I have not put a pair of heels on in months, other than the wedding last weekend. Makeup and beauty trends have also changed thanks to last year. It’s interesting to see how much it’s changed too.

I would bet to say that most of us don’t wear as much makeup as we used to over a year ago (thanks to not having places to go). I know many of us, including myself, have upped our skincare game too. So who needs a ton of foundation? Gotta let that inner glow- glow, right?!

Springtime for me is always when I like to keep things minimal and au natural. But I also love to play with colors this time of the year. I live for bright pink lipstick, especially with a sunkissed glow??. I’m also very into the bold eyeshadows this season. – it’s all about balance right?

Let’s get into my favorite Spring beauty trends, shall we?

Spring Beauty Trends for 2021;

Bold brows– go big or go home. Big bold and brushed brows are here to stay, and I’m not mad at it.
HOW TO GET THE LOOK: I like using a brow pencil or powder first, followed by brushing my brows up with an eyebrow gel to get this look.

Dewy skin- You can fake a good glow, BUT with the right products.
HOW TO GET THE LOOK: Start with skincare FIRST. Try a glow or plumping mask before applying your makeup. It does make a difference, promise. I picked up this 24k gold mask from PTR and I really like it! After you mask, add a glow primer before or even mixed with your Foundation. Lastly, don’t forget your highlighter! 

Bold Colors– Have fun, and get spunky!
HOW TO GET THE LOOK: Try bold and colorful mascara, or an eyeshadow palette like this will be perfect. I would keep the rest of your makeup minimal to let the bold colors pop. I first did a shadow liner to create my wing, then I used the Sigma E30 eye brush to lightly pack on my color on the inner and outer corners of my eyes. Go slow, and pack on your colors!

Spring Beauty Trends for 2021;

Statement Lips– I love a fresh and bold pink lip color for Spring. Matte, semi-gloss, or satin finish- take your pick! But have fun with your lip colors this season.

Barely there Foundation– Your no makeup; makeup look all over again. 
HOW TO GET THE LOOK: grab your light-medium coverage foundation. Yes, girl, let your freckles and acne scar show- those are normal, no need to hide them! Keep things light and easy. 

Natural locks– Okay, this may not be a trend, but I’m making it one. I’ll be out in the pool a lot. We all know sun + chlorine is not a good mix, I try not to add more damage and heat to my hair. So I like to air dry my hair a lot or diffuse it for a lived-in/beachy look. I don’t have curly hair (I wish I did), but I like to use a curl cream or wave spray to help with frizz and shine.

P.S. If you’re out by the pool or beach too- please do not forget your sunscreen and get a hair mask to keep those locks healthy.
