This past weekend I spent cleaning out the boys closet and getting rid of their winter clothes and putting out all their Spring clothes.
It’s funny because the boys love new clothes just as much as I do. They get SO, SO excited to have new clothes. OshKosh B’gosh has these activewear clothes that the boys want to wear 24/7 (don’t blame them, it’s like yoga pants for us moms!). They love putting on their mesh shorts and snapback cap to look like daddy.
I’m glad the boys love shopping and new clothes as much as I do (haha, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree does it?). But shopping for them gets a bit tricky because even they do love to shop and love new clothes, they are also VERY picky.
On top of them being picky, (because they share closets) I don’t have tons of space to put clothes everywhere. And because I don’t have much space to work with; I need their clothes to be both stylish, but functional. I need their clothes to go from play to dinner out with the family. OshKosh B’gosh thankfully has it all for the boys. I also love all the Spring styles and muscle tee’s they have; they are also great to layer!
I like things a certain way, and I like to keep things in order, keeping their closets organized and clean keeps me sane. For today I wanted to share my three tips on how I keep their closet organized and how I Spring clean.
- Get rid of the old clothes. Anything that doesn’t fit, faded, has holes, or out of season. You gotta make room for all the fun Spring clothes, duh!
- Since the boys share a closet, I separate each clothes by color coordinated hangers. Jadyn’s is blue, and Colin’s is green. I also divide the closet Colin gets the left side, and Jadyn get’s the right side.
- Utilize every space you have! Use baskets for sleepwear and underwear (Mesh baskets are great because it lets you see what’s inside). Shelves for shoes, or blankets. Think outside the box. There are a lot of storage ideas that will help you utilize the space you have.
It’s not rocket science, but the biggest thing is to get rid of what you don’t need or no longer fits. Once you have done that, you just have to get crafty with the space you have. If there is a will, there is a way, trust me!
And once you get rid of what you don’t need, you can go shopping for new clothes (my favorite part!). Below is a special discount for Uptown readers, to OshKosh B’gosh for 25% off! Have fun Spring shopping!
