My Style Resolutions for 2020

I know it may seem silly to talk about resolutions almost in march, let alone to chat about style resolutions. But hear me out on this one (I’ma need you to stay with me here)… I’ve purposely waited to let the New Year, New You hype die down.

Houston fashion blogger Elly Brown shares her Style Resolutions for 2020 and why she wants to push outside her comfort zone when it comes to style

It’s easy to think and say, “YEAAA; I’m going to sleep 9hrs every night, workout every day, and eat no sugar” when everyone is saying the same thing. But, we all know the gyms are empty by the end of February. Instead of going with the crowd and following the new year hype, I’ve taken my time to think about everything. Where I want to go with my life, the dreams for my family, and everything else.

I know it seems silly to have a style resolution, but now that I am in my 30’s (which BTW, I feel so accomplished to say that?!) I no longer care about what others think about my outfit or let the title of being a mom dictate what I can or can’t wear.

Yes, I am a mom, but I don’t have to wear leggings or live in the “mommy uniform”. My mommy uniform can be jeans and platform sneakers. Because I’m a mom doesn’t mean I have to sacrifice my style or my love for fashion. Don’t get me wrong; I love leggings, but I also love my heels.

Another thing I want to do this year when it comes to style is to try new things, step outside my comfort zone, and to have fun! Life is way too short to take yourself seriously, or your clothes.

Again, I know for some it may be silly to have a style resolution, but can I encourage you to try to have one? It doesn’t have to be grand; it may be as simple as taking two days a week to dress up… even if it’s to go to the grocery store! Your resolution can also be how to nail a winged liner look, or how to curl your hair. Whatever it is, do it for you, and only you! You deserve it!
