Bringing back this oldie, but a goodie! It’s HOT, HOT, HOT here in Houston. With the heat comes zero patience to do my hair. And with the added heat, chlorine, sun, and SPF- I avoid using extra heat on my hair at ALL costs. I’m also trying to grow my hair out, and I want zero breakage. So if you’re like me, then today’s Summer Hairstyles for Short Hair is just for you! But don’t worry, if you have long hair you can also get these looks!
All these looks are under 5 minutes and are SUPER easy. And listen, you don’t need to do 67 steps to get cute hair, ok? I’m a big fan of hair accessories, and I have a lot of them. I think they are a GREAT way to change things up, but with little effort.
These looks are also great for traveling or when on vacation! When I am on vacation, I don’t like bringing a hair straightener, curling iron, and a hairdryer. What I do bring is my curl creme, texture spray, and hair accessories.
Let’s get to the hairstyles, and make sure to scroll all the way to the bottom to see a video on how to get each hairstyle!
A messy up-do but make it girly with pearl clips. You can add some texture spray for your hair to hold a bit better and for extra volume at the roots if you want. The key here is for it to be effortless, so don’t worry too much about any stray hairs.
Sleek and out of the way (except I missed a hair there ?). Use colorful bobby pins, or you can use metallic ones. Start with a minimum of three, and if you want to stack it up with more, you can!
Hair scarves for the win! I have one way too many headscarves, and I love wearing them during the summer- especially during vacation. If you want to see a post on different ways to wear headscarves, check out this post here.
You know I had to add a hat. I’m a hat girl, and I LOVE wearing my hats. I would highly recommend getting a straw hat during the summer, and you can wear them with just about everything. I would recommend getting a natural color with no straps around the brim and no floppy hat. Keep the brim stiff. They’re more versatile and chic.
Technically these are the same bubble braid hairstyle. But, I wanted to share different ways to wear it. If you don’t want the entire look down the middle, you can try the half version, or you can also do two bubble braids like dutch braids along each side of your head. If you do try the half-do, you can also wear it with beachy waves- more volume and texture is always fun!
Another version of bubble braids, but requires a few more steps, and in my opinion, looks more like braids. I’m a bit more relaxed and don’t like spending TOO much time making my hair perfect, but you can get precise with the last two looks and make them very tight and neat! If you prefer nice and precise, remember to pull your elastic tight, and close to your scalp!
Here is a video with a how-to on each summer hairstyle, I hope you enjoy! Comment down below, which of these summer hairstyles for short hair is your favorite?
