Time and time again after talking to many different moms with different needs and different walks of life, we can all agree mothering is HARD. It challenges you in more ways than one. It’s messy, never-ending, but it is the most rewarding job anyone can have.
I’m three kids in, and to be honest, I thought two was hard. Someone asked me the other day how life is with three kids. My response was “Do you want me to be honest?!” Ha! Three kids guys is a whole other ballpark.
Throughout the years, and after many talks with my husband I have learned one thing- I put way too much pressure on myself. Whether it’s the need to always have a clean house, always have the bed made or the dishes clean. The pressure I put on myself alone is breaking me.
I will be the very first one to admit I am not good at asking for help. I’m the I can do it all, say yes to everything, you can count on me, I can bring all the groceries inside by myself and in one trip kind of woman.
Man, just reading that out loud made me tired. That can quickly become so exhausting.
My 2018 resolution is to learn to ask for help. And most importantly not only ask for help but to be proactive in getting help. Because the reality is, I can do anything, but not everything. I’m not supermom, and nor do I really want to be.
I signed up with Care.com, and they have the worlds largest platform for finding all kinds of family care services. From nannies, to house cleaners to even personal assistants. You can find care for anyone in the family (even for our four-legged family members).
Care.com also makes everything easy and simple. You can find, book, and pay local caregivers all on Care.com. You also have the option to request background checks and interview prospects, plus getting started with Care.com is easy!
Sign up today to start your search for local caregivers, nannies or housekeepers. Become a premium member to reach out to caregivers, schedule interviews and pay for care online using the Care.com platform.
Since joining with Care.com Premium Membership (it’s been almost two years), I have found a handful of nannies and that we trust and love. Now I searching for a housekeeper! Care.com also makes it easy to request background checks, read reviews, and even see qualifications and certifications. So I can feel at ease that I will find the right person for my family’s need. And I can let go of being supermom.
Join me in 2018 and learn to ask, seek help and let go of supermom. When we seek help we not only end up less stressed and happier, but it means more family time, and that is indeed priceless. Instead of Fridays becoming cleaning days, they are going to become family days where we go to the park, enjoy chick-fil-a and heck maybe even see a movie!
Sign up today at Care.com and got 20% off your Premium Membership. It costs less then you think!

You have 3 of them and just by that you already ARE a supermom! I have only one and am still trying to “understand” that I can’t be it all or do it all and that I’m doing the best I can already.
2018 should be a year of being extra kind to ourselves because perfection does not exist and trying to be it or reach it only takes away the beauty of precious moments we have all together with our little ones.

YES! So well said, mama!
Good on you Elly for the new positive mindset! Being a mother with three (!) kids sounds crazy and not everyone would be able to handle it as well as you are already. As long as you’re doing the best you can! ?

I love this post! It’s a great reminder. I think I’m going to post this line on my mirror. “We can do anything but we can’t do everything!” Thanks for sharing.
