Love it or Hate it? My Willow Pump Review

The Willow wearable breast pump is a product I have been eager to share my review with you all. I WISH I had this hands free breast pump back in my corporate days. After all I have had four kids so my pumping history is unmatched! ? This pump is SO SO good. It comes at a price, but in my book, it is worth every penny. Here is my Willow Pump Review…

Willow is the all-in-one breast pump that fits in your bra and goes where you go and does what you do. They have a patented, spill proof technology that lets you pump hands free.

Welcome to 2020 friends, it’s about time someone came up with the technology that works FOR YOU. Can I get an amen?! I just need someone to invent a machine to do my laundry, mmmk? Thanks, lol!?

I know a lot of you have been patiently waiting for my Willow Pump Review, so let’s dive right into the most FAQ I received.

Looking for a review on the hottest hand free breast pump out there? Houston blogger Elly Brown shares all you need to know and a Willow Pump Review.

IS IT LOUD?

Not at all! You can hear the pump work, but it’s nowhere near like other pumps.

DOES IT LEAK?

Yes and no. If you are pumping with the milk bags, then no, it does not leak. Now the containers are a different story. With the milk containers, you have to be careful in leaning over- that’s when it can leak. The milk containers have a nozzle that opens and closes during your pumping session (and when it’s open, that’s when it can leak).

IS THE SUCTION STRONG ENOUGH?

Yes! Because the machine is so quiet (and very comfortable), you don’t think it will suction strong enough, but it does! There is also different levels of suction.

CAN YOU COMPARE TO THE MEDELA?

The Willow pump is hands down around so much better in my opinion. There is a learning curve with the Willow pump, but in terms of convenience, size, portability, the Willow pump is SO much better!

DOES IT WORK FOR LARGE BREASTS AND LARGE MILK SUPPLY?

I think so, I am a 34ddd (yes, you read that right), and I have no problem. They have a guide available on how to measure for the right flange size, make sure to follow the guide carefully, and you shouldn’t have a problem!

The milk bags and container hold 4oz. For me, that’s plenty! If you’re pumping more than that on each breast, then you’ll have to either pause and use a new bag or empty the container. NOTE: Willow also auto shuts off when you reach the limit in the container or milk bags.

DO I HAVE TO WEAR A SPECIAL BRA?

I think in the beginning, once you are getting the hang of it, wearing a nursing bra that is stretchy with good coverage will help. I have been able to wear all of my nursing bras now with no problem.

HOW CONVENIENT IS IT DURING TRAVEL?

SO convenient since it is a hands free pump. The size is perfect! The only thing I wish they had was a case that fits both the pump/parts and charger. The small pouch that they have doesn’t work well for me.

HOW BULKY IS IT? IS IT NOTICABLE OUT IN PUBLIC?

I’m a petite person, so it is a little bulky for me. Nothing crazy though

IS IT EASY TO CLEAN?

Very! You don’t clean the actual machine, but all the extra parts are washable.

HOW LONG IS EACH PUMPING SESSION?

I usually pump for 5 to 10 minutes.

HOW LONG DOES THE BATTERY LAST BEFORE CHARGING AGAIN?

The rechargeable battery for me will last 4 to 5 pumping sessions. I will typically charge at night for the next day. I will say it’s excellent at a quick charge. I forgot to charge it once, and a quick 10-minute charge worked for 1 pumping session.

FINALLY, WHAT ARE THE PROS AND CONS?

PROS: Willow has an app to download that keeps tracks of past pumping sessions. The app also has a lot of informational videos that are great to watch if you need help!

Have I mentioned how convenient it is?!

CONS: I wish it came with two chargers to charge both at the same time. I ended up having to buy an extra charger.I did this because I like to pump both breasts at the same time, if this is not something you do, then an extra charger probably wouldn’t matter.

There is a learning curve with the pump, and you HAVE to make sure to watch their videos and pay close attention. On the flip side, they do have help available, and once you get the hang of it, it’s a breeze.

Thank you so much for stopping by, have a great day!

Hi! Thanks for the review! When you compared to the Medela pump – is that the hospital grade? I’m curious as to how powerful the suction. Many thanks again!
