How To Layer A Dress for Winter

Winter months means layers upon layers and depending on where you live, you may have to add more layers than others. I love the idea of taking what you may already have in your closet and making it last ALL. YEAR. ROUND.

Many of you have a summer dress (or dresses) that can be worn and layered all year round. Or, on the flip side, there are a lot of holiday winter dresses (like the one I am wearing) that can still be layered for those colder months.

No matter the situation, dresses can and should be layered for the winter season. And here are three simple ways on how to layer your dress for winter:

  1. Add a long sleeve bodysuit. I LOVE how a long sleeve looks under a dress like this. Take this outfit for example.
  2. Add stockings. No one can pull this off better then Blaire herself, and she has inspired me to do the same. This look isn't in my comfort zone, and I didn't think I could pull off the sandal and stocking look, but now I love it. Note; you can also wear stockings with booties or heels too. Doesn't have to be sandals.
  3. Add a sweater OVER your dress, and you have yourself what looks like a sweater and skirt outfit. Clever right?! Take this look for example.
