Happy Friday!!

Let's dive right in for today's post. Fashion can be defined as a popular trend, especially in styles and behavior according to Google. Fashion has evolved so much over the years though. Styles come and go, and things that was once frowned upon is now a "do". Funny how what goes around comes right back around...and nor I have J.T. stuck in my head.

Is it just me or did anyone else live by the "black and brown make a frown" statement? And I know we have all heard of no white after labor day. Although there are many theories to how this "rule" started, the point is that it doesn't really matter anymore. Really nothing matters anymore, okay that's not entirely true... but you know what I mean.

There are several other myths to fashion like:

  • Don't mix gold and silver
  • Don't wear stockings with open-toes shoes ( I personally am not crazy about this trend, but have seen many women rock this look).
  •  You must match your bag and shoes
  • Don't mix prints

The list can go on. But all of these myths and rules should not be followed. That's the beauty of fashion, it's kind of like a catch 22. Fashion is and will always be a hit or miss, somethings you will nail and well, others not so much. I have seen so many looks (especially on Pinterest) that debunk the "rules" of fashion, I love looking through street style looks on Pinterest. It's fresh and unique, I really enjoy how others express themselves through their styles.

I feel like I am rambling on here but I will close off in saying this, fashion is what you want to make out of it. It's all about trying new things, thinking outside the box, and pushing yourself. My style has evolved SO much in just the last 6 months. I have been braver and bolder in trying new things and the more I learn about myself the more my style changes.

So today, I want to encourage you to forget the rules, forget what others tell you. Yes it's good to have inspiration and to have a BFF that tells how something looks. BUT don't be confined to the rules. Have fun and try new things. If all else fails, you'll have funny pictures, ha!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.

xoxo,
