How to Dress The Mom Pooch

I have come to terms and have learned (well, still learning actually) to love my body after four kids. My body will not ever be what it was once pre-baby. And to be honest, I don’t want it to be. My body gave birth to 4 little humans, and I wouldn’t trade them for my pre-baby body. But the journey to loving my body and all of the flaws is, in fact, a journey.

I debated on actually putting this post together, to be honest. I don’t want to encourage and say that you should have to hide any part of your body. Everybody is beautiful as is. There is no need to hide or cover anything up unless you want to.

But I am also fully aware that clothes can make you feel confident, bold, and powerful. And that sometimes we need a little boost! I fully believe clothing has the power to transform your mood. So I guess I say this because I am sharing four different ways to dress the mom pooch, I am not saying a mom pooch is bad.

At the end of the day, if you want to wear something because you love it, and feel good in it, then DO. ??IT??. The beauty of fashion is that it is personal to every individual. I get asked a lot on how to dress the mom pooch, so I am here simply to share a few ways that will maybe make you feel a bit more comfortable so you can learn to love the skin you are in.

Elly Brown wears paper-bag pants from Target with a knitted top and sandals

Paper Bag Trousers;

I love anything high waisted, and paper bag pants and trousers have become a favorite! I love how ultra-high they are. Just pay close attention to the fit and cut of pants like this. Too much fabric can make your look sloppy.

Elly Brown wears an a-line eyelet midi dress from Amazon

A-Line Midi Dress;

I love dresses that have a cinched waist! It also makes it easy to add a waist belt to bring in the waist for more of an hourglass figure! I wish I had more curves, so I love a waist belt to make it look like I have more curves ?.

Belted Blazer & Slip Skirt;

See, more waist belts ?! Watch my IGTV down below to see what a difference adding a blazer and belt to this slip skirt outfit makes.

Elly Brown wears high-waisted flared denim from J.Crew

High Waisted Flared Denim;

Also, in the IGTV below, high waisted denim. I love the high waisted button up denim because I feel like they offer a bit more support. I’ve mentioned on social that some of my favorite high waisted denim have been from Madewell (11′ inseam), Abercrombie (mom jeans), J.Crew, and American Eagle.
